AFTER a winter of deep cleaning and repairs to the 400 year old ceilings, dust sheets will be folded, clocks reset, and East Riddlesden Hall will re-open on February 16 for half term.

On February 18 and 19 there will be an opportunity for families to join the National Trust team, helping to weave willow shoots between 10.30am and12.30pm. The shoots will be woven to create a green igloo, and during summer this leafy den will provide a shaded play area for children to enjoy.

There are lots of other things to keep little ones busy during the school holiday, including using their hide and seek skills to find a secret garden. In this garden children will be able to test their balance, get messy making mud pies and work together to build the best den ever.

If the temperature drops families can head to the historic house to make willow bird feeders or nests. There’ll also be 30 minute traditional gingerbread making on Monday 18 and Thursday 21 at 11.30am and 2pm.

East Riddlesden Hall will be open 10.30am-4.30pm from February 16 to 21 and then at weekends until March 17. Normal admission prices apply. Free entry for National Trust members and under 5s.
