A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a shooting incident was reported on a Bradford estate.

Police have only just released details of the incident, which happened in Holme Wood at 2am yesterday.

In a statement issued at 10.50am today, a police spokesman said: “Police have arrested a 46-year-old man on suspicion of attempted murder following an incident at an address in Greenholme Court, Bradford yesterday, where a man was reported to have been shot.

“A man who received injuries which appeared to be consistent with the discharge of a firearm remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition today.

“The incident is being treated as a targeted attack and is being investigated by West Yorkshire Police’s Homicide and Major Enquiries Team.

“Neighbourhood officers will continue to be in the area today to offer reassurance to anyone with concerns.

“Enquiries are continuing today into the incident, which was reported to have occurred at around 2am yesterday.

“Anyone who can assist with information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting log 0093 of 30 January.

“Information can also be reported anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.”
