A CLOTHING company has applied for retrospective planning permission to replace the front of a city centre store.
Yours moved from inside the Kirkgate Centre to an empty unit facing out onto Kirkgate last year - replacing the existing frontage in the process.
The company did the work without applying for planning permission, saying the frontage was "badly damaged and required urgently replacing."
Now the company has submitted a retrospective application for the works. An application was needed as the shop is in a conservation area.

An application from the company says: "The signage that was original on the shop front was horrible and very unsightly. The shop front glazing was badly damaged and was held together by the vinyl tape – pedestrians would often lean against the store glazing whilst waiting for buses etc."
The frontage is on a pedestrianised street.
The application adds: "The shop front did not reflect the finish that Yours clothing wanted and as it need to be completely changed due to damage and water ingress, we took the opportunity to redesign the finish."
A decision on the application is expected next month.
