It was billed as snowmageddon - the Beast from the East II: Snow Harder.

But in Bradford at least, yesterday's yellow warning for snow and ice proved largely a load of hot air.

So you might be forgiven for rolling your eyes when we tell you there's another yellow warning in place for overnight Thursday into Friday.

But before you go accusing the T&A of peddling flake news, here's where we get our information from.

The forecasts used in our news stories rely on the Met Office, which is reckoned to be one of the most reliable forecasters in the world.

A Met Office spokesman said: "Our main job is to provide UK forecasts and warnings 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. We can't promise to be 100% accurate - no real weather forecaster can because of the chaotic nature of our atmosphere. However, we can promise to get the very best warnings and forecasts out to you."

The latest weather warning is in place for Thursday night into Friday morning.

And forecasters reckon there is currently a 50% chance of snow in Bradford around 3pm on Friday.

So don't pack away your winter survival kit just yet - and rest assured that the T&A will keep you up to date with the latest forecasts as they change.
