MOTORBIKE clothing and accessories will be auctioned online next week.

The lots, worth £500,000, comprise the stocks of Frizinghall-based Nicholas Noble (UK) Ltd, which recently went into administration.

Walker Singleton is auctioning the stocks, alongside the associated business assets, on behalf of Administrators, XL Business Solutions.

Howard Eastwood, a director of Walker Singleton, said: “Nobles has been a respected retailer of motorbike related clothing and equipment for over 15 years.

"The business prided itself on carrying physical stock lines for almost every product, in every size – from leather racing suits, through jackets/trousers to helmets, gloves and boots – all motorbike related.

"The store was brimming with orderly presented areas of clothing; a complete repository of anything and everything a biker might need – aside from the motorbike itself.

He added “Nobles were not tied, as many retailers are, to particular brands, they stocked everything they felt a rider might need whether they rode dirt bikes or went continental touring."

Walker Singleton said the online auction has already attracted "strong interest" from private and trade buyers.

More than 1,000 garments, 1,500 helmets/gloves and 500 pairs of boots are included in the auction by all major brands.

The auction closes over five days, with each dedicated to a focussed sector of the stock.

“With over one million motorbikes and scooters registered in the UK, owned by ever more discerning and safety conscious riders, we anticipate many owners will be keen to explore the opportunity of updating and upgrading their clothing and equipment - at auction values.

"The auction starts to close from 10am Monday, February 4,” said Mr Eastwood.
