ROADWORKS to enable the infilling of one of the roundabouts on Wakefield Road, Bradford, are causing delays tonight.
A 30mph limit has been imposed and one of the lanes closed as work starts to fill in the underpasses at the junction of the main road with Neville Road and New Hey Road.
Traffic this afternoon was backing up all the way from the Sticker Lane junction on to Shipley Airedale Road as drivers were caught by the new works which are expected to last until July
The roundabout has been closed off turning the road into a straight-through route.
Temporary pedestrian crossing and lights are being installed to allow pedestrians to cross the important commuter route when the underpasses are blocked off.
The roundabout is being filled in by Bradford Council because the cost of maintenance of the tunnels and roads was thought to be too excessive.
