A VAN and motorbike were torched on the same Lidget Green street overnight.

Firefighters from Odsal and Fairweather Green were called to Necropolis Road at around 2.30am.

Odsal firefighters were assisting the crew from Fairweather Green at the first fire - a van which had been set alight on a driveway - when they were alerted to another blaze.

A motorbike had been torched near a house, causing the gas supply to be ruptured.

Two houses had to be evacuated whilst the gas board came to isolate the gas and make sure the house was safe.

Firefighters left the scene at around 5am.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said:"Police are investigating two incidents in Necropolis Road, Bradford, where a van and a motorbike appear to have been deliberately damaged in the early hours of today.

"Anyone with information which may assist is asked to contact Bradford District CID on 101 or use the live chat facility on the West Yorkshire Police website.

"Information can also be reported anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555111."
