THE date of the premiere of a film which had scenes shot in Bradford and the rest of West Yorkshire has been announced, and it will be taking place in the local area.

Destination Dewsbury, which tells the story of a group of friends travelling to see their terminally ill friend, will be premiered at the Showcase Cinema in Birstall on Saturday, February 23, followed by a London premiere in Leicester Square the day after.

Scenes for the film were shot in Kala Sangam, where characters Peter and Gaz go to find their friend Adam.

Director Jack Spring, said it was nice to finally be able to share the film, which was shot on location in West Yorkshire.

“We staying in Bradford throughout filming, and everyone was really welcoming,” he said.

“It’s been a really long process, but now it’s all done and it will be nice to finally share it.”

Destination Dewsbury will be screening at the Showcase in Birstall from Friday, March 1.
