PLANS for a new housing development on the site of a former special school have been withdrawn.
An application was lodged with Bradford Council by Inter City Money Ltd to build 14 new homes, three garage blocks and an access road at the site of the former Heaton Royds Special School, Redburn Drive in Shipley.
Bradford Council's highways department said the application was "unacceptable", but if certain aspects were amended then the objection could be reconsidered.
A landscape design consultation said "the street scene is poor with little design reflecting the nature of the site or attempting to integrate it with the existing features".
The school site has fallen victim to vandalism and fires since its closure in 2010.
The site was eventually sold to Inter City Money Ltd for £461,000 at auction in September 2015.
