This exclusive drone footage shows the jaw-dropping views available from Bradford's new most sought-after addresses - the unique rooftop penthouse 'pods' at Lister Mills.

The Pods at Lister Mills sit at the top of the Grade II Lister Velvet Mill, in Manningham, and have now gone on sale.

Thirty zinc-clad penthouses sit inside pods, which complete the renovation of the former 19th Century mill.

The one-bedroom apartments are priced at £99,950 and the two-bedroom properties will set buyers back £155,000.

The futuristic bubble pods - kitted out by Urban Splash - will give their new owners stunning views across Bradford and beyond from the seventh floor, and come with unique design features like floor-to-ceiling glazing and a curved profile.

A new tour by drone takes prospective buyers around the luxury apartments, showing off the stunning views from the balcony and the range of features inside.

Guy Ackernley, from Urban Splash, said: “Throughout our restoration of both Velvet Mill and Silk Warehouse, we worked hard to ensure contemporary aesthetics sat well against the building’s original fabric; the pods are a great addition, a nice design juxtaposition and are going to be a wonderful place to live.

“We’ve saved the best ‘til last with these homes and I’m delighted we can now open the doors for the first time; we’re welcoming future residents to view now – including our stunning show apartment which provides a completed vision - and each penthouse will be available to move into straight away."

The mill was originally built in 1838 and was once the world's largest silk mill.

The building still standing today was built by Samuel Cunliffe Lister to replace the original Manningham Mills when it was destroyed by a fire in 1871.

Mr Lister was said to hold the most UK patents during his lifetime and Urban Splash believe the pods continue his legacy.

It closed in 1992 and fell into disrepair before the building was bought by the company.

Its commercial occupiers include theatre company Mind The Gap and the scheme’s hub, the Manningham Community Centre.

Silk Warehouse, the original South Mill, created 131 new homes complemented by three ground floor commercial units when its re-development was completed in 2006.

People had queued overnight two years earlier to get their hands on one and it is hoped the latest homes will prove just as popular.
