A FUNDRAISING group met the Lord Mayor of Bradford after raising £1,000 for two charities.
Wyke Library’s Knit and Knatter Group held a special craft and bake sale event – for Sue Ryder Hospice and Bradford Nightstop – and were welcomed to the City Hall to be thanked by Councillor Zafar Ali.
He said: “I’m so grateful to the ladies of the Knit & Knatter group as well as staff at Wyke Library for helping organise this event.
“They raised an amazing amount of money which will all go towards the appeal.
“It was a pleasure to attend on the day of the sale and I had a great time helping to sell some of the items and meeting some of the people who came along.
“The event was a great success and the demand was so great that I understand that the group are still busy knitting away to fulfil orders that were taken on the day.”
