The car hit a tree killing Mr Fakeer, 22, who was thrown from the vehicle.

Khan had been racing with Haaris Khan, 25, of West Park Road, Girlington, who was in a VW Golf.

He also received six months each for causing death while uninsured and causing death by driving without a licence, and three months for perverting the course of justice, all to be served concurrently. He was banned from driving for seven years and eight months.

The case was heard at Bradford Crown Court.

Ward stole car keys from the office of Clayton Motors in Brackenbank Road, Bradford, on September 16.

He and an accomplice made off in a Toyota Corolla parked at the premises.

Ward struck again on September 27, breaking into a house in Worden Grove, Clayton, Bradford. He searched the property before fleeing empty handed.

He was sentenced at Bradford Crown Court to 876 days in jail, the minimum term for a “third striker,” with twenty per cent off for his guilty plea.

He then broke into a locked unit to steal 12 iPad Minis, an Apple iPad and an Apple Mac Pro.

“I can’t think of a more mean and disgusting burglary, other than one in a house, that anyone could commit,” Judge Robert Bartfield told Crossley.

Crossley’s long criminal record included 12 court appearances for burglary.

A SERIAL house burglar who smashed into a wall fleeing the police in a car stolen from one of his victims was jailed for a total of four years and seven months.

Keat, of no fixed address, was jailed at Bradford Crown Court for three offences of house burglary, taking a £38,000 BMW 520 without consent, aggravated vehicle taking with dangerous driving, two offences each of driving without a licence and insurance and failing to provide a specimen.
