A COUNCIL conservation officer has waded into the Wibsey Park Lodge saga.
There was outcry when the lodge was razed to the ground towards the end of last year.
An application has since been submitted by Mr N Rahim for the retrospective demolition of the building and the construction of four, three-bed semi detached houses.
The officer highlighted how the Victorian park lodge "contributed to the ‘completeness’ of the park as an example of a Victorian municipal parkland and to the understanding of the layout and historic function of the park".
The comment, left on the Council's planning portal, says no justification has been put forward to support its demolition and public benefits have not been set out for consideration.
