LANDMARK Bradford buildings will turn red to support a children's charity.

Children’s Heart Surgery Fund (CHSF) is hosting its Wear Red Day on February 1 to help support babies and children living with congenital heart disease (CHD).

This will not only see schools and businesses across Yorkshire wearing red for the day, but Bradford Council has vowed to support the day by lighting up some of their buildings, including City Hall, the Mirror Pool, the top of Margaret Miller Tower and Forster Square Arches.

The Leeds-based CHSF has helped children from Bradford like Emily Jones live a normal life after supporting her through surgery.

Emily was diagnosed with congenital heart disease at just nine days old.

She barely had any energy to drink milk and had a feeding tube fitted at 6 weeks, followed by open heart surgery at seven weeks, but is now a healthy 15-month-old tot.
