POLICE have arrested four men near Leeds-Bradford Airport on suspicion of a car-jacking in North Yorkshire.
Cleveland Police said a man was pulled from his vehicle at 12.15pm on Thursday at the roundabout junction of the A174 Parkway and the A19 near Thornaby, and his van was stolen.
The men, aged 34, 37,40 and 45 were arrested when they were stopped by armed police on the A658 Harrogate Road, less than a mile from Yorkshire's busiest airport
Detectives have appealed for anyone who may have seen the car-jacking, a grey Citroen C5 at the roundabout or saw a group of four of five males acting suspiciously in the area around the Griffin Pub, in Thornaby at 12.15pm on Thursday.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Inspector Jon Tapper from Stockton Operational Crime Team, at Cleveland Police, on the non-emergency number 101, quoting event number 9506.
