THE 1975 wowed at the SSE Hydro over the weekend but did you know they once camped by the banks of the River Clyde?

I first met Matt Healy and the lads in 2014 shortly after the release of their debut album.

They spent the night in a tent alongside Greg James at BBC HQ at the Quay after a quick chippy in town and ended up painting their nails and having a sing song round the campfire.

They looked a tad rough the next day.

Now Matt and the lads are massive and he is passionate about his music.

He told fans he’s now keen to make a definitive documentary about emo music starting from Rites Of Spring and going all the way through Get Up Kids, Brand New to where we are now.

Sounds like a great idea.

FORMER Glasgow Uni student Paul Jordan did so well at writing his PhD on the Eurovision Song Contest that he’s now an official judge.

I’m so proud of Paul who has followed the song contest since he was a wee boy.

Now he’s had one of his biggest roles in the competition yet, starring on French telly over the weekend to judge the official proceedings.

He said: “I was asked to be on the international jury for semi final one of the French Eurovision selections.”

Paul learned Russian and Estonian for his thesis and visited Serbia, Finland, Sweden, Estonia, Ukraine, Russia and Greece.

He told me at the time that the thesis involved a lot more than analysing Gina Gs stilettos.

HE might have split from his ex Victoria Obahor but reality star Brian Matthews will be seen cosying up to her on telly this week.

I can exclusively reveal that Brian and Victoria have taken part in Couples Come Dine with Me which will be aired on telly this Tuesday.

The two characters are keeping tight lipped about what happens on the show but Brian did reveal one of the courses involved meatballs.

A little bit of research shows me he already cooked these on Dinner Date which he won . Apparently not everything went to plan with the meal this time round.

The show was filmed before Victoria gave the Rangers fan his now famous Celtic tattoo.
