OFFICERS have arrested a beggar last night who was not homeless and was standing on a traffic island in the centre of Bradford begging.
Bradford East police said that he was not only in breach of his Criminal Behaviour Order but was also in breach of his court bail conditions.
The conditions say that he is not allowed to beg or loiter on junctions.
The arrest of the man was the latest in a series of recent arrests of beggars claiming to be homeless.
Police ask the public to consider who you are giving money to and how this money is being spent.
Stopping at traffic junctions to give people money is potentially dangerous to other road users.
They ask that people donate money wisely and for advice visit https://streetsupport.net/bradford/.
