A DRIVER who may have seen a fatal crash on the Stanningley Bypass is being urged to contact police.

The Major Collision and Enquiry Team (MCET) at West Yorkshire Police would like to trace the driver of a black Ford Focus which they believe was travelling behind a white Skoda Yeti before the fatal crash at 7pm on Saturday, November 24.

Jonathan Ball, the driver of the Yeti, was killed when his car hit the back of a broken down DAF tipper truck on the Bradford bound carriageway of the bypass, near to Richardshaw Lane.

Detective Sergeant Fiona Hoodless of the Major Collision Enquiry Team, said: “I would ask this driver to come forward and speak with us as he or she may well have important information which could help the investigation.

“The driver or anyone else with any information who police have not yet spoken to is asked to contact the Major Collision Enquiry Team via 101 quoting log number 1581 of November 24.
