TWO primary schools in east Bradford have placed in the top one per cent of schools in England for maths.
Thornbury and Barkerend Primary Leadership Academies also places in the top three per cent for reading in the Primary Schools Performance Tables for 2018.
Both schools are part of the Star Academies Trust, and both joined last April.
The tables are based on SATs results, and progress scores for pupils.
Clare Daddy, principal at Thornbury, said: “I am absolutely delighted to celebrate such outstanding results.
“This is a real testament to the hard work that children and staff have put in. Our children are capable of being the very best and this shows their true potential.”
Ann Winter, principal at Barkerend, added: “We would like to acknowledge the incredible team effort that has gone into achieving this year’s fabulous results, and outstanding progress pupils have made since joining our school.
“It is through the dedication of our staff and support of our parents that we are now ranked the ninth best primary school in Bradford.”
