CARING staff at Incommunities have walked, run, rowed, baked and even played rounders to help raise nearly £10,000 for a host of local and national charities in 2018.

One of the highlights of a packed fundraising year saw Jenny and Jason Baines complete a sponsored ‘rough sleep’ and raise £1,620 for local homelessness charity, Simon on the Streets.

More staff collected over £1,600 in a workplace prize raffle in aid of the Royal British Legion and raised £585 for Women’s Aid by playing rounders.

Meanwhile, a team of Customer Service staff donated over £1,100 for the Yorkshire Cancer Trust after completing a canalside walk in memory of their former colleague Yvonne Butterfield, who sadly passed away in October 2018.

Further charities supported in 2018 have included Macmillan Cancer Research, the Alzheimer’s Society, Keighley and Airedale Cancer Support, the British Heart Foundation, the RNLI, National Aids Trust, Save the Children, the Equity Partnership and the Children’s Heart Surgery Fund in Leeds.

In addition, Incommunities staff have made donations of food, toiletries, toys and clothes to four local foodbanks, Cares at Christmas and Shipley District Schools Uniform Bank.

Geraldine Howley, Incommunities Group Chief Executive, said: “I am extremely proud of the support shown by Incommunities staff and supporters in giving – big and small – to a variety of charitable causes.

“Their contribution has changed lives and reflects the determination of everyone at Incommunities Group to make a difference.”
