A WOMAN pedestrian has been injured in a crash on Swain House Road, Idle.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said the woman, 40, was taken to Leeds General Infirmary with injuries that are not believed to be life threatening.

There were reports of a big police presence at the scene, with police vans and patrol cars, as well as a cordon outside a row of shops.

The road was closed near the junction with Kings Road and traffic was diverted through the Swain House estate.

The incident was reported at 5.19pm.

One woman said: “Coming down Swain House Road, the police had blocked it off.

“There were blue lights all across the road and three or four police vans, so it looked very serious.

“The traffic was backed up a long way.”

A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said the driver of the vehicle involved did remain at the scene and was being spoken to by specialist traffic officers.
