A BRADFORD district company that makes replacement panels for classic cars has landed a prestigious deal with the Ford Motor Company.

Ex-Pressed Steel Panels already ships its hand-finished steel panels across the globe for historic models such as the Anglia, Capri, Consul and Zodiac.

The Cortina, Escort, Sierra and Granada are also among historic models that Ex-Pressed will supply with panels, with Ford’s seal of approval.

Ex-Pressed Steel Panels has more than three decades’ experience in the industry, and its village workshop in Cowling already provides steel and aluminium panels for dozens of models of cars.

A company spokesperson said: “We are delighted to have worked out this licensing arrangement, not least because it’s the first deal of its kind to be struck outside the United States.

“We’re looking forward to ensuring classic Ford models look as good as the day they left the showroom.

“We’re delighted to be making high-quality British goods and believe the move will be excellent for the British automotive industry, and the classic car sector especially.”

Ex-Pressed Steel Panels specialises in manufacturing a broad range of panels for vehicles from the 1950s and later, for lines that have been discontinued.

Most of the panels produced by the company would otherwise be unobtainable. Ex-Pressed can also create bespoke panels for vehicles with unique specifications.

Ex-Pressed’s fabrication service is capable of producing hand-finished, made-to-order car panels from almost any original panel.

The company also seeks out genuine classic car panels, buying them so it can use them to expand its range of supported models.

The spokesperson added: “We can recreate panels that would allow other classic car restoration enthusiasts to keep their pride and joy motoring on into the future.”
