THE deadline for applying for a Provident Social Impact Fund grant is nearing and groups have only a few days left to submit a bid for up to £5,000.

The fund aims to support social inclusion in Bradford and the programme will invest in activities that seek to alleviate the underlying problems that prevent social inclusion and enjoyment of a full modern life.

The fund will run for 12 months and will distribute £40,000 in grants between £1,500 and £5,000.

Leeds Community Foundation (LCF) is working with Provident Financial Group as part of the group’s commitment to the city of Bradford.

In 2017 the following projects were funded: Keighley Healthy Living, Shine (West Bowling), Kidz Klub Allerton, Bierley Community Association Ltd, BD4 Community Trust, Sandale Community Development Trust, QED Foundation, Margaret Carey Foundation (MCF).

Community groups, charities, social enterprises or other charitable organisations from the voluntary sector can apply.

Priority will be given to small, locally-based community organisations in areas of social, financial and welfare disadvantage.

While the grant can be used to part-fund a wide range of activities, LCF would like to see the impact its support is having. Accordingly, it prefers for the grant to equal at least half of the total cost of the activity or project within the criteria.

Only one application per organisation can be considered.

The deadline to apply is 5pm Friday, January 4.
