A CHARITY has handed over £1.9million to fund vital equipment for the new children’s cardiac hybrid theatre at Leeds Children's Hospital.
Children’s Heart Surgery Fund (CHSF) supports children from all over West Yorkshire with heart conditions and is a huge supporter of the new facility, which opens in March 2019 when it is used to treat babies and children with congenital heart disease.
Bradford mum Rebecca Rodgers supports the charity, inspired by her 4-year-old daughter Isabella.
She said: "Bella was born with hypoplastic right heart syndrome (HRHS) which means she has no right ventricle, the next stage of her heart surgery will take place at the new facility in the months ahead.
"We have raised thousands of pounds for this fantastic charity over the years, and I feel proud to have helped fund such an important new facility.”
