A RUN in memory of a murdered MP will take place for the third year in a row, organisers have announced.
The third annual Run For Jo, in memory of the former Batley & Spen MP, Jo Cox, has been given the go ahead and will take place on Sunday, June 23 2019, at Oakwell Hall and Country Park in Birstall.
The 2018 Run For Jo had more than 500 runners take up the challenge on what was one of the hottest days of the summer, with many more revelers coming along to enjoy the food, music and community spirit, including the showing of England’s World Cup win against Panama on a giant screen in the park.
The 2019 event will follow the same format as previous years with a 2.5km fun run, 6.5km cross-country challenge and family fun day, but there will be more focus on music and entertainment giving it a festival vibe.
Organisers have confirmed preparations are well underway and plan to launch entries in January 2019.
