CARE home staff gave been praised for their compassion and determination to give residents to respect they deserve.

Inspectors visited the Grosvenor Park Care Home unannounced in October this year to assess the Burnside Road home across five core areas.

A report published by inspectors from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) has found the 61-bed care home to be Good, with safety, care, effectiveness, responsiveness and leadership rated Good across the board.

The home provides support for elderly people and those living with dementia. people and people living with dementia. At the time of the inspection, around 50 residents were living on site, with many reiterating the care they received was "brilliant".

The CQC last carried out a comprehensive inspection at Grosvenor Park in March 2016, when the Eastbourne care home was also rated as Good.

Within the CQC report published in November, inspectors stated: "We saw that staff were caring and compassionate when working with the people who used the service.

"Staff we spoke with described with great passion their desire to deliver high quality support for people.

"We found

the staff were warm and friendly. Staff told us, 'I always treat people how I would expect to be treated' and 'people deserve to be treated well and respected'.

"The registered manager and staff that we spoke with showed genuine concern for people's wellbeing.

"It was evident from discussions that all staff knew people very well, including their personal history preferences, likes and dislikes and had used this knowledge to form very strong therapeutic relationships."

Team members at the Four Seasons Health Care operated site recently received specialist training to gain new accreditation in dementia care.

Staff were given a simulated experience of what it is like to live with the sensory and cognitive impairments associated with dementia.
