A car smashed through a garden wall and came to rest nestled against a house.
The spectacular crash, in Highmoor Lane, Brighouse, resulted in the vehicle’s driver being arrested on suspicion of drink driving.
Remarkably, nobody was injured in the incident, after the elderly occupant of the house has already gone to bed and avoided debris landing in her living room.
Pc Claire Gray, a Bradford-based Roads Policing Officer, tweeted: “Brighouse: Thankfully nobody was injured in this collision and the driver of the vehicle failed a roadside breath test and is now in custody.”
A spokeswoman for West Yorkshire Police said: "Police were called at 9.11pm on Tuesday 18 December to reports of a car colliding with a house in Brighouse.
"The incident happened on Highmoor Lane at the junction with Towngate when a silver Vauxhall Zafira collided with a wall.
"The driver in his 30s was uninjured and arrested at the scene after failing a breath test.
"Anyone who witnessed the collision or has any further information is asked to contact the police via 101 quoting incident number *1732 of 18 December."
