THREE of the district’s filling stations have applied for a licence to sell alcohol for 24 hours a day.
The applications relate to the convenience stores attached to filling stations in Tong, Saltaire and on Barkerend Road.
Bradford Council has received an application from Shell UK Oil Products to sell alcohol for 24 hours at its Bingley Road filling station. The application also calls for the store to be granted a licence to sell “late night refreshment” from 11pm to 5am.
Malthurst Retail has submitted two similar applications.
One is for the Arkle Filling Station, a BP station at 262 Barkerend Road.
The other is for the Cross Lane Filling Station, on Westgate Hill Street in Tong.
People have until next Thursday to have their say on the applications.
A decision on the licences is due in the New Year.
