MORE than 3.7 tonnes of food for a Bradford food bank has been collected by students, schoolchildren and a Scouts group in the run up to Christmas.
IT students from Bradford College volunteered alongside pupils from Westminster Primary School, Bradford Christian School, Bowling Park Primary School and TLG School to collect the food, worth around £7,400.
Low Moor Scouts group also helped in the week-long collection drive in aid of Bradford Central Food Bank.
They managed to collect 3,735 kilograms of food at Tesco in Canal Road, which will be handed over to the food bank to help less fortunate people feed their families over the Christmas period.
