CONCERT band Hot Aire! and training band Fresh Aire!, from Bingley, raised £200 for children's charity Rays of Sunshine at a concert last month.

Hot Aire! is known for its unique sound created by the interesting combination of woodwind, brass and percussion enhanced by the addition of keyboards and electric guitars. Repertoire includes music from the shows, films, popular music and special arrangements for the band.

The symphonic concert band is the third generation of a band that began life in 1956 as a brass band and developed in the 1990s as an extended concert band. Their showcase spectacular 30th Anniversary Concert will take place at Bingley Arts Centre on Saturday, June 15 at 7.30 pm.

Tickets are now available.

Musical director Stephen Bradnum conducts Hot Aire! and Fresh Aire! is led by Barbara Snowden, a qualified music teacher.

Concerts are played throughout the year.

Next summer, nearly 60 members will be going on tour to Bavaria in Germany where they will perform three concerts.
