HISTORIAN and broadcaster Dan Snow had students spellbound during a recent talk at Bradford Grammar School.
The popular presented gave a talk titled On This Day in History to around 400 students and parents in the school’s Price Hall, providing a vivid history of our history and its fascinating turning points.
He covered topics such as the signing of the Armistice treaty a century ago, Rosa Parks refusing to give up her bus seat in 1955 and even the day Napoleon was attacked by hundreds of wild rabbits.
Jane Chapman, assistant head, said: “Dan is a wonderfully engaging speaker.
“His enthusiasm for history is infectious and, he had an entertaining story whatever date his audience gave him, and made it clear to everyone in the audience just how much history matters.”
The talk was organised in partnership between Bradford Grammar and Ilkley Literature Festival.
