AN office could be turned into a tuition centre if plans are approved.

An application has been submitted to Bradford Council to turn an office unit in Listerhills Business Park into the new venture.

Documents submitted with the application say: "Ashby Knight is an exciting new commercial start up that will aim to tackle the underachievement of pupils in literacy, numeracy and science from KS2 to A Level at an affordable price. The centre aims to make private tuition by way of small group teaching affordable and accessible for the community."

It says the centre will operate between 10am and 6pm on weekends and 4pm until 8pm on weekdays.

"It is thought there should be support for this application as there are similar units within the same business park and has no detrimental impact," the application says.

"The building shall bring in an educational organisation which will offer a small number of employable positions to Bradford and ensure that empty units are used."
