NEW Saints signing Lachlan Coote says he is settling well into life in St Helens and is looking forward to mingling with the fans for the first time this weekend.

Th Australian has joined the club from the North Queensland Cowboys, one of three to make the switch from the NRL to St Helens over the off-season ahead of the 2019 campaign.

The fullback, who has been in the town for just short of four weeks, says he has managed to settle in after making the big move across the globe.

"It hasn't been too bad, it's been pretty tough the first couple of weeks getting used to it but now we've settled in pretty good," he said.

"And we've got a nice house and the boys have been awesome on the footy side of things. St Helens have made it easier on the transition side of things."

Despite not being a complete stranger to the colder British weather, having featured in a World Club Challenge for the Cowboys at Leeds in February 2016 and playing for Scotland during the autumn he admits the permanent move has taken some acclimatising.

"We're getting used to it, it's been hard.

"I think it's a lot easier to get used because you can keep putting layers on! But you can only wear so many layers!"

He says he is looking forward to mingling with the fans on Saturday (December 15), when he and fellow NRL signing Kevin Naiqama will be at the Saints Superstore for a meet and greet from 12.30pm to 1.30pm.

"My first promotion is this Saturday with Kevin so I think we'll get out among and the fans and see what they're like, I'm sure it will be good," he said.

"I'm settling in alright, they're just footy lads. They're the same all around the world are rugby league lads, and they're making it easier to settle in."
