RIGHT Said Fred reminisced about their first time in Scotland as they wowed the audience for the Big Christmas Bash for three charities at the Doubletree Hilton. As I’m Too Sexy duo Richard and Fred Fairbass relaxed in their joggies in the room they told me they played a club in Port Glasgow when they were kids with band called The Actors. They toured with US electro duo Suicide and Joy Division in ‘78 but Richard recalled: “We came to Scotland in a van and we used it crash at motorway service stations and sleep on it. We have since travelled to Glasgow, Inverness, Aberdeen and Edinburgh and the Scots crowds have always been friendly unlike the ones in Russia. We got attacked in Moscow by neo-Nazis and held at gunpoint in Lithuania.”

The Deeply Dippy legends played all their hits at the bash and Richard danced and sang so much he reminded the audience of mostly females he had asthma in case there was a stampede. The charity bash raised loads for Debra, Calum’s Cabin and Homestart.

Love Island Scot Laura Anderson got a taste of the exotic when she was invited to Barbados by Richard Branson and his Virgin holidays team.

Laura who took over her man Max Morley was in great company as she partied with Pixie Lott and Oliver Cheshire and Laura Whitmore on the beach for the new ‘departure beach’ concept which allows you to enjoy your holiday that bit longer.

I’ve been a guest at a few of Richard Branson's parties in the past and he knows how to lay on the hospitality.

I was once in a posh food queue in front of Princess Eugenia in the VIP area of V Festival.

Richard’s wife Joan is Scottish too and we had a good chat about her Glasgow roots. Anyway, Laura will be hitting our screens again this December 17 for a Love Island reunion. Since the show, she’s not looked back, but it might be interesting to see how she reacts to seeing certain exes.

Strictly Kids got the seal of approval from a proper Strictly Judge when they held their 2018 final at the Doubletree Hilton.

Judge Shirley Ballas sent all the contestants a special video message to support their hard work for the STV Appeal.

Amongst the dancers on the day was wee Kai McDonald who has a huge online following after performing. Kai gave the judges a surprise hip thrust but despite his cheek came a close second. He’ll be in prime position on Wednesday when he dances for a 70th anniversary party at the Scottish Parliament.
