FIRE crews were called to Cottingley shortly after midnight this morning after a man's car caught fire as he was driving it.
The man was driving his gas-powered Toyota people carrier along March Cote Lane, Cottingley, when a fire started under the bonnet.
One unit from Bingley fire station attended the blaze at around 12.30am.
A spokesperson for Bingley said the car was "totally destroyed" by the fire, but luckily the man had escaped uninjured, and there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the blaze.
The crew used a hose reel and breathing apparatus to put out the fire.
