A PUB chain in the district has released a new festive topping for its carvery this Christmas period; glitter gravy.

The sparkling new idea is available at Hawthorne Farm in Warren House Lane, Yeadon, and Heathfield Farm, in Heathfield Lane, Birkenshaw, and gives guests the chance to make their roast extra Christmassy.

The gravy is available throughout December for diners to enjoy with its carvery. The recipe for giving the gravy its extra sparkle has been kept under wraps by the pub.

Andrew Hodgson, general manager at Hawthorne Farm, said: "Our carveries are a firm favourite for the run up to Christmas.

"This year we wanted to take the celebrations to a whole new level by making the UK's most festive gravy.

“Christmas is all about decoration and sparkle, so we thought why not add a touch of this to our seasonal menu to spread some extra Christmas cheer.

"With the same great taste but with a dash of added shimmer, we look forward to welcoming guests to enjoy our new glittery food innovation!” 

The gravy is perfectly safe to eat and is suitable for vegetarians, and is available while stocks last at the two pubs.
