TWO uninsured drivers had their cars seized on the M62 overnight in the Bradford area.

The first was seized after a single vehicle crash near Junction 24 for Ainley Top at around 12.40am today.

West Yorkshire Police Roads Policing Unit said that while no one was injured in the crash, the driver turned out not to have insurance, and was reported.

The RPU tweeted: "Always a good idea to set your own policy up and not rely on someone else."

The second seizure came after officers spotted a Volkswagen Passat which had stopped on the hard shoulder having broken down, at around 1am.

Officers went to speak with the driver, who gave false information, and after he was properly identified it was found he was disqualified from driving, and had no insurance.

The car was seized and the man issued with a summons to attend court.
