A PUBLIC meeting will take place today calling on an MP and councillors to step in and help put an end to problems with drugs and prostitution in a Manningham street.

Residents in Cornwall Place claim their lives have been made a misery for the last four years because of drug use and prostitution taking place in Millhaven flats, which is run by Horton Housing.

Naz Shah, MP for Bradford West, will join the police and councillors in listening to the problems, which include needles being found in the street and drug dealing taking place in front of children.

A petition has been set up by the residents pushing for several changes to be made at the flats, while a Horton Housing Association spokeswoman said they are aware of the concerns.

She added: “We are working collaboratively with the local community and other partner organisations, including the police, to develop an effective and co-ordinated approach to resolving these problems.”
