A MAN in custody charged with a string of armed robbery offences had his case adjourned for a week after an “incident” at Leeds Prison.

Cameron Woodhead, 21, was due to appear on a video link from the jail to Bradford Crown Court yesterday but the delay meant his barrister, Abigail Langford, was left with only minutes to take instructions from him on the ten offences he is alleged to have committed.

The incident at the prison had nothing to do with Woodhead but it held up the fetching of inmates to the video link room.

Miss Langford asked Judge David Hatton QC to adjourn the plea and trial preparation hearing until December 14 when Woodhead will be brought to court.

Woodhead, of Idle Road, Bradford, is charged with a string of robbery offences allegedly committed between September 10 and November 6 in Bradford.

They include robbing McDonald’s in Eccleshill and Forster Square (pictured) of money, attempting to rob Quenchers Newsagents on two occasions, attempting to rob Poundland in Enterprise Way, and five offences of possession of a kitchen knife as an offensive weapon.
