BRADFORD'S Danny Tetley has swapped the X Factor stage to perform at a Birkenshaw pub.

Danny, who made it through to the semi-finals of the ITV singing competition, is showcasing his talents at the Halfway House in Whitehall Road East, on Sunday (December 9).

Pub landlady, Eileen Gamble, explains how she came to know Danny, who has become a good friend, through working in the pub industry.

Eileen says the pub has supported Danny throughout his time on the X Factor and everyone was now looking forward to welcoming him there from 5 until 8pm for a meet and greet and to perform songs.

"We love it. The whole pub is buzzing about it. He has got such a lot of support in Bradford," says Eileen.

Adding: "There will be a lot of people who want to see him."

The charity gig will raise funds for CLAPA, a cause close to Danny's heart as he was born with a cleft palate and harelip.

Danny's search for stardom is well documented- he previously appeared on ITV's Pop Idol.

Speaking to the Telegraph & Argus in 2001, Danny said: "There are lots of people worse off than me but hopefully this will show other people with cleft palates and harelips what you can achieve. I had to have eight operations when I was younger but speaking's never been a problem and I taught myself to sing."
