FUNDRAISERS are to help a new emergency refuge for vulnerable women by taking part in a sponsored rough sleep in Bradford next weekend.
The Strong Foundations refuge is to open soon in Great Horton in an effort to help women in the community be free from domestic abuse.
Refuge manager Claire Burrowes and volunteer Haley Terry are among those sleeping rough in Bradford city centre on Friday, December 14.
They hope to raise money to furnish the refuge which is being set up in a former beauty salon.
Claire said: "The community are supporting and making an effort off their own backs, especially in this cold weather, all to help a local organisation get off the ground and help the women in desperate need of refuge have somewhere safe locally to support them."
