AROUND 150 musicians will congregate to raise the roof of Bradford Grammar School's Price Hall, in Keighley Road, in a glorious celebration of Christmas next weekend.

Bradford Festival Choral Society is to join forces with the prize-winning Rothwell Temperance Band for the festive event named 'Rejoice and be Merry'.

The evening will includes carols for choir and brass band, and plenty of opportunities for the audience to participate.

With Christmas food and drink available and a family friendly running time, musical director Tom Leech is hoping for a big audience.

He said: "It's such a privilege to conduct this wonderful choir, who are sounding better than ever. Our programme is full of seasonal delights, from carol service favourites to Christmas pop classics, all accompanied by a first class brass band.

"I'm passionate about choirs and the impact live music can have on someone's life, and Bradford's got one of the best amateur choirs in Yorkshire with BFCS." Bradford's biggest and oldest choir hoped that its new BFCS 2020 project will continue to encourage a wider audience, particularly younger people, with free tickets for anyone aged 30 or under, or on a low income.

The event takes place on Saturday, December 15, at 6pm.
