A FRESH weather warning has been issued for the Bradford district, with gusts of up to 80 miles per hour predicted.

The yellow weather warning for wind has been issued by the Met Office from 3am on Friday, December 7, until midnight on December 8.

Bradford Telegraph and Argus:

The Met Office said "very strong winds could bring some disruption", including delays or cancellations to road, rail and air services, closures to some roads and bridges, a chance of building damage, and the possibility of power cuts and other services being affected.

It is the second warning for wind issued in the past couple of weeks. When a weather warning was issued for high winds last week, a 12-year-old girl was injured by a falling piece of masonry in Leeds Road.

The chief forecaster at the Met Office said: "A weather system will move eastwards across the UK on Friday bringing widespread gales.

"Inland gusts of 60 to 70mph are possible with gusts of 80mph in exposed locations in northern England.

"There remains some uncertainty in the track of this system and where the strongest winds will occur."
