A BRADFORD school’s Christmas play has been named a finalist in the Virgin TV Christmas Stars competition.

Hill Top Church of England Primary School’s original production could be professionally filmed and broadcast to millions of Virgin TV customers in the lead up to Christmas.

The school will also receive £5,000 if chosen as the winner by a panel of judges, £1,000 for being runner-up, and all 22 finalists receive a £100 prize.

The Low Moor school’s production ‘The Race to Bethlehem’ is an original take on the tradition nativity and features a pigeon race, original songs, and more than 60 pupils taking part many in fancy dress.

David Bouchier, chief digital entertainment officer at Virgin Media, said: “A huge congratulations to Hill Top for reaching the final stage of our Christmas Stars competition.

“Their production has the perfect ingredients for a feel-good festive play which could be enjoyed by millions of Virgin TV customers this Christmas.

“We’ve now got the tough task of choosing a winner from our fantastic finalists – good luck Hill Top.”

A panel of judges will select a winner, and the play will be available on demand to Virgin TV customers.
