TWO men were taken to hospital with burns injuries after a gas explosion at their home.
Firefighters were called to a flat on Keighley Road, Frizinghall, at 7.30pm on Saturday and found two men with burns to their heads and shoulders.
A senior firefighter at Shipley Fire Station said one of the men suffered significant injuries and they took the unusual step to take both of them to hospital in the back of their fire engine.
The Telegraph and Argus understands this saved the more seriously injured man's life.
The incident is believed to be related to drugs and police are investigating the circumstances.
Firefighters spent almost six hours at the scene, making the property safe along with Northern Powergrid.
