RUNNERS pulled on fancy dress and braved dreary conditions to tackle a 5km festive run around Lister Park.

Epilepsy Action's Reindeer Stampede saw around 350 people line up at the start line.

The race was open to adults in a main stampede, while youngsters took part in a 400m run.

The winner of the main run was Leila Armoush, who runs with Leeds City Athletics Club, with Jonathan Gallucci, from Bingley Harriers, finishing a close second. Daniel Pelissier took third place.

Carl Foster, run director at Epilepsy Action, said: “It was wonderful to see so many runners joining us at Lister Park, coming together on a very wet morning to support this event.

"Over the years the Reindeer Stampede has raised over £40,000. This fantastic total enables Epilepsy Action to improve the lives of people affected by epilepsy, not only locally but also all over the UK.

"Thank you to all our reindeer runners, big and small, as well as all the marshals and volunteers."
