THE return of one of Saltaire’s favourite festive events - Saltaire Living Advent Calendar - has begun.
For the past twelve years, residents of Saltaire, have organised a Living Advent Calendar around their streets.
Like the advent calendars enjoyed by children, gradually opened, or in this case, illuminated, one more each day in December until Christmas Eve.
The increasing popularity of the event is such that it will actually kick-off with 15 windows on the first night, making it well worth a visit from the very beginning. The subject of each window remains a strict secret to the household until the evening it is illuminated.
A leaflet with a map showing the locations of the windows is available from shops in Saltaire or can be found at saltaireinspired.org.uk.
