A TEAM from Yorkshire Water are raising money for the hospital unit that cared for James Etherington before his death last year.
Mr Etherington, a Yorkshire Water worker, died 10 days after being badly injured outside of Bijou nightclub in Bingley last year. Wednesday will mark the first anniversary of his death.
Yorkshire Water’s Operational Jetting/CCTV Team are completing a 20 mile sponsored walk from Knostrop Sewage Treatment Works, where James was based, to his home town of Bingley.
The sponsorship will raise money for the Neuro Intensive Care Ward at Leeds General Infirmary (Ward 6) which cared for James in his final days.
Half the team carried out the walk on November 24 with the remainder of the team will complete the walk on Saturday.
Friends and family will also be celebrating Mr Etherington’s life in Harvester in Bingley at 3pm on Saturday.
