A THREE car crash in Kings Road towards Five Lane Ends is causing major delays this afternoon.

Traffic is queuing both ways on Kings Road, and is also affecting Idle Road, Wrose Road and other major commuter routes in that area of the city.

One motorist, who is caught up in the delays, said traffic is "horrific" and there are ambulances and unmarked police cars at the scene.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: "We were called at 4.17pm by the ambulance service to a three car road traffic collision in Kings Road, near to the Horse and Farrier pub.

"The road is blocked in both directions, and any injuries are unknown at this time.

"The cars involved were a Mini, a Volvo and a Peugeot."

Julie Underwood, 56, of Kings Wood, said she heard a loud bang and went outside to see what had happened.

She said: "There was a big black car with a man and a little girl turning left onto Thorndale Rise, and a lady in a red Peugeot coming down Kings Road has collided with the black car.

"A young lady in a black Mini has then collided with them both.

"The red car is a total write-off, it's a mess, and the lady in it might have a broken arm.

"I came out of my house to check everyone was alright and alive, the little girl was in shock so I gave her a hug to make sure she was alright."
