PLANS have been unveiled for a Keighley Historic Transport Festival.
The event, to be staged in 2020, will bring together and celebrate the town’s transport heritage – the canal, railway and road vehicles.
Behind the initiative is the Leeds and Liverpool Canal Society. Several sites would be involved in the festival, which is earmarked for the Spring Bank Holiday weekend – May 23 to 25 – in 2020. A focal point will be Stockbridge Wharf (pictured).
Anyone who would like to get involved in helping with the planning or running of the festival should contact Colin Thunhurst, of the Leeds and Liverpool Canal Society, on colinthunhurst@outlook.com or Keighley MP John Grogan’s office at Keighley Civic Centre.
